- Aerodynamic design of rotor blades
Since it is the rotor blade that catches the wind to be transformed to electrical energy, its efficiency is one of the key parameters for an effective wind turbine. WINDnovation's engineers have a sound knowledge of aerodynamics of rotor blades and provide rotor blade designs well adapted to the requirements of the customers. Based on airfoils developed at TU Delft specifically for rotor blade applications, the blades developed by WINDnovation show high performance coefficients and are tolerant to dirt on the surface in operation. At the same time the aerodynamic design determines the operational behaviour of the rotor blades. By designing blades with a smooth transition from one operational state to the other, WINDnovation's blades are easy to control and easy on the pitch drives and have minimum requirements on the turbine controllers.
